Bantay is one of the municipalities of the First District of Ilocos Sur, situated just northeast (or as a gateway) of Vigan City, the Provincial capital. It is a 3rd Class Municipality comprising 34 barangays. It is known for the majestic Bantay Belltower and the St. Augustine Church and the scenic view of the Quirino Bridge and the Abra River, Mt. Tupira, and Mt. Caniao. Guided by its vision and inspired by its battle cry of “Dur-as Bantay”, the Municipality aspires to become a business hub through effective and transparent local governance.
